The predictions are dire, the
numbers are astounding. Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is now the most common cause
of dementia in people over age 65. Predictions of the future aging population
with AD numbers in the millions.
If you live to be 85 your chance of developing
severe dementia caused by AD is 50 percent. Our scientists and medical
community tell us there is no cure, no prevention. The scientific reasoning for
this exponential rise in this devastating disease is because we are living
longer, however comparing percentages of AD patients in years past does not
correlate with population numbers. The number of people affected by this disease
have been steadily climbing over the last 30 years at an alarming rate.
There may not be a cure and the
argument continues regarding prevention but there is mounting evidence of a
probable cause, overlooked by the medical industry. Overlooked because the
western medical model does not take into account nutritional intake and effects
of ingested chemicals through food.
Let’s look at some food facts for
that past 30 years. In the 1970’s aspartame was introduced the to food supply
in the form of NutraSweetä. Aspartame
is an excitotoxin which puts it in the category of nerurotoxins. Neurotoxins
kill brain cells. Aspartame is cumulative in the system and it is easily
absorbed by the hippocampus and the hypothalamus because they are not protected
by the blood brain barrier. Research shows that these two very essential
components of the brain are the two most affected in Alzheimer’s. Two-hundred
million Americans consume over 5000 products containing 15,000 tons of
aspartame per year. That translates to 30 million pounds of a brain killer.
In the 1970’s when the fast food
industry began its growth in the market the use of MSG began its insidious rise
in our food supply. MSG is also an excitotoxin, another brain killer. MSG is
an addictive chemical drug that creates addictions to certain foods. It is used
in medical research to create obesity in rats. MSG has no nutritional value, it
is not a food. It is a taste enhancer. It makes inadequate food taste good.
One of MSG’s first introductions
into the food supply was in nursing homes to stimulate the elderly to eat more
food. Most of our processed foods and over 90% of our fast food have high doses
of MSG, a neurotoxin. MSG is hidden under various names because the American
consumer is becoming educated and avoiding these toxic chemicals.
MSG is hidden in foods
ingredients such as hydrolyzed protein, HVP (hydrolyzed vegetable protein),
calcium caseinate, yeast extract, sodium caseinate, hydrolyzed corn gluten,
autolyzed yeast. If these are listed on the ingredient list of your food
product, you are ingesting MSG.
There are 1.5 million tons of MSG
produced annually for global consumption. Three billion pounds of MSG are added
to the U.S. food per year. This is three billion pounds of a brain killer
consumed by U.S. citizens every year.
Mercury, another neurotoxin and
brain killer is being found in our food supply at alarming rates. Mercury, like
aspartame and MSG, also destroys brain neurons. Pregnant women and children are
warned against eating fish. It is pumped into our air by the tons from coal
fired power plants. Mercury implanted in our teeth leeches into the body. We
inject it directly into the blood through some of the vaccinations we give our
babies and anyone who has had a flu shot.
One of the world’s leading
immunogeneticists Hugh Fudenberg, MD conducted a study between 1970 and 1980.
His research found that individuals that had five flu shots in a 10 year
timeframe were ten times more likely to develop Alzheimer’s than persons who had
one or two or no shots at all. He concluded that the cumulative effects on the
brain of the mercury and aluminum in the flu shots caused cognitive dysfunction.
The three neurotoxins listed above are all
ingested and injected into our population daily in toxic quantities. All three
are neurotoxins, brain killers. Aspartame, MSG and mercury all destroy
neurons. The cumulative effect of this assault on bodies and brains of the
American population is obviously devastating.
Consider the life long effects of
these toxic chemicals on our children and the effects on their future mental
health. All of the above chemicals are known to cause cognitive dysfunction and
are implicated in behavior problems such as demonstrated in ADHD.
There may not be a cure for Alzheimer’s , but prevention?
Possibly. Stop consuming these three neurotoxins and you will go a long way
toward avoiding Alzheimer’s Disease.
